Joseph Duggar must be counting the minutes in jail.
Entertainment Weekly has confirmed the 31-year-old former reality star is being held in solitary confinement at the Washington County Detention Center in Fayetteville, Ark., as he awaits extradition to Florida, where he is facing child molestation charges.
Duggar, a married father of four, has been in custody since March 18. Two days later, he reportedly made a phone call to his wife Kendra — who is also facing charges unrelated to Joseph’s Florida case — and revealed he’s in solitary “23 hours of the day,” according to PEOPLE, which cited a collect call it had obtained.

The “8-by-10 area” of the facility where he’s being held is “pretty small,” Duggar explained to his wife in a hushed tone, “but I’ve been able to read a lot actually, and resting some, but I’m not sleeping great through the night.”
During the day, he told Kendra, “I’ve been spending a lot of time reading, uh, reading the Bible, they got me a Bible in here.”
According to PEOPLE, the couple also discussed Duggar signing over his belongings that were confiscated during his booking to Kendra, his wife of nine years.
Entertainment Weekly has reached out to the Duggar family for comment.
Duggar is accused of molesting a 9-year-old girl while on vacation in Panama City, Fla., in 2020. The victim, now 14, reported the alleged incident to the Tontitown Police Department in Arkansas, which then contacted authorities in Florida.
According to a police statement, Duggar admitted his actions to local detectives as well as the victim’s father, who confronted him on March 17.
The following day, Duggar was arrested on charges of lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim less than 12 years old and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 years or older. He is currently awaiting extradition to Panama City.

As for Kendra, she was arrested two days after her husband on charges unrelated to his child molestation case.
Tontitown Police Department in Arkansas announced Joseph and Kendra have each been charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, second degree, as well as four counts of false imprisonment, second degree.
Kendra, who appeared on TLC’s Counting On with the extended Duggar family, was also booked into the Washington County Detention Center. Her bond was set at $1,470 and she was released two hours later. She’s due back in court on April 29.
“To protect the integrity of the investigation and the privacy of those involved, no further details will be provided at this time,” the Tontitown Police Department said in a statement.
