Emmerdale could be bringing back a soap legend to take down evil Dr Todd, according to fans.

For weeks, Dr Todd (Caroline Harker) has been making medical student Jacob Sugden’s (Joe-Warren Plant) work a living nightmare. Not only has she been pushing him to his absolute limits, but she has also been gaslighting him and calling him out over his mistakes.

And recently, she made sick references to the abuse Jacob suffered from Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) a few years back. Thinking enough is enough, last week Jacob decided to raise a formal complaint with Dr Todd’s employers.

However, after Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) was left fighting for her life after she gave birth to Jacob and Sarah’s (Katie Hill) baby, Dr Todd stepped in and saved Charity.

Dr Todd showed her true colours later on though, as after she found out Jacob isn’t the real father of the baby, she used this and blackmailed Charity, demanding that she get Jacob to drop the complaint.

Jacob ended up dropping the complaint, but with more drama to come, fans reckon someone unexpected could finally take Dr Todd down. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, viewers have predicted Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) or David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) could come back to put an end to Dr Todd.

“I feel a whodunnit coming on involving Dr Todd,”’l said one person. Someone else added: “Good I hope someone gets rid of her!” A third mused: “Get Debbie Dingle back to kill her off. She wouldn’t stand for it.”

Echoing their thoughts, another penned: “It would be a good way to bring her back.” A fifth then suggested David and wrote: “Or what about David? Jacob’s dad?” A sixth said: “That’s a good shout.”

As the daughter of Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Charity (Emma Atkins), Debbie played a part in several big moments on the soap. From her disastrous relationships to shock DNA twists, Debbie’s time in the Dales was not short of drama. She made her debut in 2002 and was last seen in 2021.

David meanwhile, joined the soap in 2006. He ended up leaving in 2023 to move to London to live with his ex, Priya (Fiona Wade).and their daughter, Amba.

It comes as Dr Todd star Caroline said earlier this year of her storyline: “I’m delighted to be back at Emmerdale for a longer stint playing Doctor Todd. She’s a complex character and from what I’ve been told so far, quite a tricky one for Jacob to navigate.

“Workplace bullying is commonplace, and it will be interesting to see it brought to our screens in a serial drama such as Emmerdale.”
